Cetatea Gurghiului se află pe un deal (500 m), amplasat în mijlocul satului Gurghiu, acoperit de pădure foioasă mixtă, compusă din mai multe specii. Dealul este format dintr-o rocă compusă din pietre legate cu un material nisipos, aceasta fiind foarte solid şi greu de săpat. La nord de cetate se află râul Gurghiu. |
