Situl arheologic se află la 2 km vest de sat, pe malul stâng al Oltului. Fortificaţia şi aşezarea au fost construite pe o terasă înaltă, din stânga Oltului, situată în apropierea zonei de confluenţă a Homoroadelor cu Oltul, în punctul numit "La Cetate".
Castrul de la Hoghiz este cel mai mare din estul Daciei, fiind o fortificaţie de mare importanţă, datorită plasării sale în punctul de trecere a Oltului. |
